New Delhi: Making his annoyance felt after being left out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction pool, Manish Pandey has refused to sign contract with the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the fourth season of the mega event, sources told CNN-IBN.

The BCCI made some last minute changes to their rules and pulled out all uncapped players from the auction. The new guidelines made them eligible for a contract of only 10, 20 or 30 lakh rupees, depending on when they made their first class debut.

Thus, extremely talented players like Manish Pandey, the first Indian to score a century in the IPL; Ambati Rayudu, Mumbai Indians’ success story in their successful season last year; and T Suman, who was among the most impressive young middle order talents for the Deccan Chargers, will have to settle for a meagre amount. Had they been in the original auction, they would have undoubtedly bagged an equally fat cheque.

The likes of Saurabh Tiwary, who was purchased for a whopping Rs. 7.36 crore, and Umesh Yadav, who was snapped up for over Rs. 3 crore, are making the uncapped players see the red. Tiwary and Yadav have only made a couple of appearances each for India that allowed them to be a part of the auction and fetch these mind-boggling deals.

Sources are also claiming that the Royal Challengers Bangalore are trying to get Pandey into its camp by paying him as per the fee structure designed by the board that could be just Rs. 20 lakh. However, the player wants to be a part of Pune who are reportedly offering him a much bigger pay package.

But when Chirayu Amin was posed the question that young players could be lured by other franchises for better monetary gains, the IPL commissioner said that would invite a strong action against them.

"If at all we come to know anything that was done under the hand, we will take stern action against that," he said. "I agree that is a difficult situation but we are very vigilant," he added.

Rayudu, Suman and Siddharth Trivedi, who was the top choice of Shane Warne to bowl at important stages for the Rajasthan Royals, and Rajat Bhatia, one of Delhi's most reliable assets over the last 3 years, are some of the other names who were not allowed to be part of the auction and like Pandey, are up for grabs as uncapped players.
